The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:

TLC on silica gel with 1) cyclohexane - ethyl acetate 10:1, 2) n-hexane - chloroform methanol - diethylamine 20:12:2:0.1, 3) chloroform - methanol 5:1, 4) petroleum ether (60-90°C) - ethyl acetate 9:1. Detection 1) by spraying with 5% FeCl3 in ethanol and heating, 2) by exposure to iodine vapor and under UV 365 nm, 3) by spraying with 5% vanillin in sulfuric acid and heating, 4) by spraying with 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine solution. Identification by finger print. Quantitation of tanshinone IIA by HPLC. The usefulness of the procedures for quality control of the medicine is discussed.

Detection 1) by spraying with 5% vanillin-sulfuric acid reagent and heating at 110°C, 2) with 5% sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating at 105°C, 3) with 3% AlCl3 and under UV 365 nm, 4) with acetoanhydride - sulfuric acid 9:1 and heating at 110°C, 4) with aceto anhydride - sulfuric acid and heating at 110°C, 5) with 20% perchoric acid and heating at 105°C for 10 min. Identification by finger print technique.

Detection by spraying with 10% sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating, and under UV 365 nm. Identification of hyodeoxycholic acid by comparison with the standard.
