Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS

Our CCBS database includes more than 11,000 abstracts of publications. Perform your own detailed search of TLC/HPTLC literature and find relevant information.

The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:

  • Full text search: Enter a keyword, e.g. an author's name, a substance, a technique, a reagent or a term and see all related publications
  • Browse and search by CBS classification: Select one of the 38 CBS classification categories where you want to search by a keyword
  • Keyword register: select an initial character and browse associated keywords
  • Search by CBS edition: Select a CBS edition and find all related publications

Registered users can create a tailor made PDF of selected articles throughout CCBS search – simply use the cart icon on the right hand of each abstract to create your individual selection of abstracts. You can export your saved items to PDF by clicking the download icon.

Desaga offprint Thin-layer Chromatography, Heidelberg, 1-4 (1994). Parameters to validate a method are listed and explained like purity of reagents/reference substances/solvents, identity testing, specificity, linearity, precision, trueness, detection resp. determination limits, sensitivity and ruggedness.

Validation of analytical methods for determining mycotoxins in foodstuffs
      J. GILBERT*, E. ANKLAM (*Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Central Science Laboratory, Sand Hutton, York, UK, j.gilbert@csl.gov.uk)

TrAC 21, 468-486 (2002). The article describes the valuable lessons learned from EU while funding a method-validation project (1996-2000) to meet European mycotoxin control in foodstuffs. It shows the performance characteristics of validated and official methods for aflatoxins, the selection and development of methods for validation, and the preparation of naturally contaminated mycotoxin test materials for validation studies. The authors put special emphasis on validation of TLC methods for mycotoxins for developing countries, as the main exporters to Europe of food and food products.

Retention data from reverse-phase high-performance thin-layer chromatography in characterization of some bis-salicylic acid derivatives
Tatjana DJAKOVIC-SEKULIC*, Nada PERISIC-JANJIC, Evgenija DJURENDI (*Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Trg Dositeja Obradovi a 3, 21000 Novi Sad, Serbia)

Biomed. Chromatogr. 23 (8), 881-887 (2009). HPTLC investigation of salicylic acid derivatives on RP-phase with various methanol - water and dioxane - water binary mixtures in order to establish relationships between chromatographic data and selected physico-chemical parameters that are related to ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination). A linear correlation between RM values and the volume fraction of mobile phase modifier was observed. The obtained RM0 values were correlated with lipophilicity, solubility, human intestinal absorption, plasma-protein binding, and blood-brain barrier data.

Peculiarities in determining the parameters of ion-exchange thin-layer chromatographic system in the presence of complex formation
      V. VERNASKI, R. RUBINSTEIN, L. KITAEVA

Chromatography the State of the Art, Vol. II, Akademiai Kiado, Budapest 1985, 633-652. The reliability of the suggested mathematical model for the determination of ion exchange constants (in the absence of complex formation in solution) base on the Rf values of the "tail" of a zone obtained in elution TLC demonstrated with the example of lanthanum and nickel adsorption from perchlorate solutions on Fixion 50 x 8 plates, by comparing calculated and experimentally measured results. Layer: Dowex 50 x 8 in the Na-form; lanthanum oxide and nickel chloride in 1M HClO4 or 1M HCl; 0.1 % aq. arsenazo (III) solution was used to visualize the lanthanum zones, and a 0.1 % ethanolic solution of rubeanic acid (dithiooxamide) to visualize the nickel zones.

Some theoretical aspects of the use of TLC as a pilot technique for column liquid chromatography
J.K. ROZYLO*, M. JANICKA, (*Fac. of Chem., Maria Curie-Sklodowska University, pl. Marii Curie-Sklodowskiej 3, 20-031 Lublin, Poland)

II. Comparison of different TLC techniques as pilot methods for mixtures separation by column liquid chromatography. J. Planar Chromatogr. 4, 241-245 (1991). Theoretical parameters for an adsorbent - binary solvent mixture - solute chromatographic system describe (i) the equilibrium between adsorbed solute and solute dissolved in the mobile phase, (ii) molecular interactions accuring in the mobile phase. Separations by HPLC, TLC in a saturated chamber and TLC in a sandwich chamber show clearly, that TLC should be performed in a sandwich chamber if TLC is used as a pilot technique for HPLC.

The effect of paper quality and color stability on the archiving of chromatograms printed by ink-jet technology
      I. VOVK*, T. MUCK, G. NOVAK, (*Nat. Inst. of Chem., Hajdrihova 19, SI-1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia)

      J. Planar Chromatogr. 13, 276-280 (2000). The study of different papers for printing and archiving chromatograms indicates that the quality of ink-jet printing is also substantially determined by the choice of the right paper and color combination. Quantitative evaluation of the paper samples was performed by a video documentation system.
