Excellent conditions for the separation of closely related triterpenes.

Detection by exposure into ethanolic anhydride for 30 min and heating at 160°C for 30 min. Quantification by densitometry at 365 nm. Detection limit 0.25 µg, 0.5 µg, 0.5 µg, 0.5 µg, respectively. Comparison of the results with those obtained by HPLC. Recoveries 96.9 - 98.7%.

Also analytical TLC; detection under UV and by spraying with 10% sulfuric acid followed by heating.
