The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition.       Planar chromatographic and liquid chromatographic analysis of thiamphenicol in bovine and human plasma

Quantification of thiamphenicol by densitometry at 230 nm. No significant differences were found between results obtained with amino and silica plates and those obtained with LC. New simple, reliable and economical TLC procedure.

      Validated procedure for determination of Monensin-Na in animal feed

      CBS 89, 10-11 (2002). HPTLC on silica gel with 1) ethyl acetate - chloroform 1:1 over 30 mm followed by drying at room temperature for 15 min and 2) ethyl acetate - chloroform 9:1 over 50 mm in horizontal development chamber. Detection by dipping in anisaldehyde - sulfuric acid reagent followed by heating at 60 °C for 5 min. Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 440 nm. Precision (n=6 at 100 mg/kg feed) is found to be 2.7 %.

TLC of flumequine (9-fluoro-6,7-dihydro-5-methyl-1-oxo-1H,5H-benzo[ij]quinolizine-2-carboxylic acid) on silica gel in a sandwich chamber with dichloromethane - methanol - 2-propanol - 25 % aqueous ammonia 3:3:5:2. The plates were developed to the top and then continuously for 1 h. Bioautography with nutrient medium and Bacillus subtilis spore suspension. After incubation the plates were sprayed with MTT-solution.

      Densitometric high-performance thin-layer chromatography method for toxigenity testing of Alternaria alternata strains isolated from foodstuffs

HPTLC of alternariol (1), alternariol monomethyl ether (2), altenuene (3), L-tenuazonic acid (4) in Alternaria alternata strains isolated from foodstuffs on silica gel pre-coated with oxalic acid in methanol with toluene - ethyl acetate - formic acid 6:3:1. Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 254 nm. The hRf values of compounds (1) to (4) were 25, 36, 49 and 30, respectively. The %RSD of repeatability were 7–19. Limit of detection for compounds (1) to (3) was 0.3 mg/kg and limit of quantification for (1) to (4) was 5.0 mg/kg in rice cultures with Alternaria alternata mycelium.

Detection by dipping into an 15 % ethanolic solution of aluminium chloride, followed by drying and heating at 130 °C for 10 min. Identification under UV 254 and 365 nm. Quantitative determination by image analysis. The LOD and LOQ were 30 and 100 ng/zone, respectively. Recovery was between 80 and 105 %.

      Thin-layer chromatographic separation using a temperature gradient

      J. Chromatogr. 333, 69-81 (1985). Study on the influence of temperature gradient for different chromatographic systems using the tank developing configuration. Illustration of the method by chromatography of dansyl amino acids and aflatoxins. The enantiomers of the dansyl amino acids could be separated by 2-D-RP TLC with partial separation, then after spraying with Cu complex of N,N-di-n-propyl-L-alanine by separation in a temperature gradient. Aflatoxins B1, B2, G1, G2 were separated on silica with a temperature gradient of 20/min. over 150-180 min.
