The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today.       Thin-layer chromatography with chemiluminescent detection of enhancers of the luminol -H2O2-peroxidase system

Detection by spraying with a solution of 2mM luminol, 6 mM H2O2 and 0.744 U/mL peroxidase in a 0.094 M tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.5). Determination by densitometry with a single optical fibre that collected the emission signal to a spectrometer. Detection limit 38 ng and 14 ng respectively.

      A new visualization reagent for cation separation by TLC

TLC separation of Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ag, Cd, Pb on cellulose with methanol - benzene - ethyl methyl ketone - 1-butanol - 25% NH3 6:4:4:3:3, methanol - benzene - ethyl acetate - ethyl methyl ketone - 25% NH3 5:4:5:3:3, and methanol - benzene - ethyl methyl ketone - 1-butanol - 2 M HCl 6:4:4:3:3. Detection after drying by spraying with a new visualization reagent, a 0.01% solution of 9-formylacridine in dichloromethane. The plates were then heated at 120°C for 10 min and examined under UV 366 nm.

      Planar chromatography of heterocyclic thiols with detection by use of the iodine-azide reaction

      J. Planar Chromatogr. 19, 4-9 (2006). TLC and HPTLC of 2-thioguanidine and 6-mercaptopurine on silica gel with methanol in a horizontal DS-chamber. Spots were visualized with a freshly prepared solution of sodium azide and starch, adjusted to a pH within the range 5.5-6.0, and then exposed to iodine vapor. The thiols became visible as white spots on a violet-gray background. The iodine-azide reagent enabled detection of quantities in the range 1-80 pmol per spot.

The image processing programs ImageJ and Sorbfil TLC Videodensitometer were compared to study direct antioxidant properties of compounds separated from extracts obtained from Medicago sativa. Comparable results were obtained based on built-in functions present in both programs for processing TLC videoscans.

Studies of 5 approaches based on factor analysis and Kalman filtering methods with errors of 5.9% for glycine and - 6.4% for glutamine.
