Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS
Our CCBS database includes more than 11,000 abstracts of publications. Perform your own detailed search of TLC/HPTLC literature and find relevant information.
The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:
- Full text search: Enter a keyword, e.g. an author's name, a substance, a technique, a reagent or a term and see all related publications
- Browse and search by CBS classification: Select one of the 38 CBS classification categories where you want to search by a keyword
- Keyword register: select an initial character and browse associated keywords
- Search by CBS edition: Select a CBS edition and find all related publications
Registered users can create a tailor made PDF of selected articles throughout CCBS search – simply use the cart icon on the right hand of each abstract to create your individual selection of abstracts. You can export your saved items to PDF by clicking the download icon.

Detection by spraying with Dragendorff's reagent followed by 10 % ethanolic sulfuric acid and drying at 110 °C for 5 min. Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 520 nm. The hRF value for betaine was 36. Linearity was in the range of 1-5 μg/zone. LOD and LOQ were 0.10 and 0.13 μg/zone. The intermediate precision was below 2 % (n=3).

Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 340 nm. The hRF value of apigenin was 71. Linearity was in the range of 100-600 ng/zone. Intermediate precisions were below 0.5 %. The LOD and LOQ were 4 and 12 ng/zone. Recovery was between 98.5 and 100.6 %.
Chinese J. Mod. Drug Appl. 8 (5), 3-4 (2014). Danshen Wuweizi Pian tablet is a herbal TCM preparation for the treatment of coronary heart disease, acute and chronic persistent hepatitis and neurasthenia. For quality control, TLC (1) for Salvia miltiorrhiza Bge. and the standard tanshinone IIA, on silica gel with toluene – ethyl acetate 19:1, detection in daylight; (2) for Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baill., on silica gel with petroleum ether (30-60 °C) – ethyl formate – formic acid 15:5:1, detection under UV 254 nm.
Chinese J. of Drug Evaluation 32 (4), 193-194 (2015). Fortune Paulownia leaf, the dry leaf of Paulownia fortunei (Seem.) Hemsl, is a TCM raw material used for treatment of carbuncles, furuncles, trauma, hemorrhage, etc. For quality control, TLC of its extracts on silica gel previously impregnated with 1 % iodine in dichloromethane and developed with cyclohexane – ethyl acetate – glacial acetic acid 20:6:1, detection by spraying with 10 % sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating at 105 ºC until the zones are clearly visualized, viewing (A) in white light and (B) under UV 366 nm. Identification by fingerprint comparison with the standards oleanolic acid (hRf 67) and ursolic acid (hRf 60) and the reference raw material in parallel.
Chinese J. Hosp. Pharm. 35 (4), 288-292 (2015). Zhichuang Xunxi Ye fumigant is a herbal TCM for the treatment of hemorrhoids. For quality control, TLC of its extracts, (1) for Leatherleaf Mahonia Stem, on silica gel preconditioned with ammonia vapor and developed with toluene – ethyl acetate – methanol – isopropanol - ammonium hydroxide 12:6:3:3:1, detection at UV 366 nm; (2) for Radix sophorae flavescentis, on silica gel impregnated with 2 % NaOH, with (A) toluene – acetone – methanol 16:6:1, (B) the upper phase of toluene – ethyl acetate – methanol – water 2:4:2:1 under 10 ºC overnight, detection by spraying with 5 % potassium iodobismuthate in HCl – water 1:200 and evaluation in daylight; (3) for Phellodendron Chinense Schneid., on silica gel with chloroform - methanol – water 30:15:4, detection by spraying with 5 % potassium iodobismuthate in HCl – water 1:200 and evaluation in daylight. Quantification of berberine chloride hydrate and matrine by HPLC.
J. Chromatogr. A 1530, 192-196 (2017). HPTLC to measure the antioxidant and hypoglycemic effects in different extracts from Myrmecodia platytyrea, which can be a traditional medicine as alternative treatment for diabetes, because the substances produced by ants can reduce blood sugar levels. Measurement of the antioxidant activity in methanol, ethanol, dichloromethane (DCM) and ethyl acetate (EA) extracts with the HPTLC-2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl free radical (DPPH*) assay, and of the hypoglycemic effects with a newly developed α-amylase inhibitory activity assay. Detection of stigmasterol after derivatization with anisaldehyde reagent as purple colored zone under white light at hRF 66. The results showed the highest antioxidant activity in the ethanol extract rich in polyphenols and flavonoids. No antioxidant activity but significant α-amylase inhibitory activity was observed in the DCM extract. The highest α-amylase inhibitory activity was found in the EA and DCM extracts and was related to their stigmasterol content.
J. Chromatogr. Sci. 55 (5), 571-577 (2017). Proposal of a rapid, easy and efficient method for calcium oxalate crystal inhibition in the agar gel system analogous to antimicrobial well diffusion assay, and TLC-agar-overlay bioautography (note that the term "direct bioautography" is wrongly used in the title) to detect the antilithiatic metabolites and to localize the active metabolites in Phyllanthus niruri, an Ayurvedic plant. The agar well diffusion method showed 50 % inhibitory concentration (IC50) value at 229 and 494 mg/mL for tri-sodium citrate and Phyllanthus niruri extract, respectively, with the lowest concentration showing visible crystal inhibition (minimum inhibitory concentration, MIC) of 20 mg/mL in both samples. With this method the successful screening, detection and confirmation of calcium oxalate crystal inhibitory metabolites from P. niruri was possible. Detection of tuberonic acid in the bioactive fraction of P. niruri by HPLC-HRMS.
