Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 275 nm. The hRF values for (1) and (2) were 56 and 5, respectively. Linearity was between 100 and 700 ng/zone for (1) and (2). LOD and LOQ were 32 and 92 ng/zone for (1) and 30 and 92 ng/zone for (2). The intermediate precision was <2 % (n=6). Recovery ranged from 98.1 to 99.6 % for (1) and 98.2 to 99.9 % for (2).

      Comparative thin-layer chromatographic studies and development of a high-performance thin-layer chromatography method for the quantification of lawsone in natural and micropropagated plant parts of Lawsonia inermis L

Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 275 nm. The hRf value for lawsone was 33. Linearity was in the range of 50-350 ng/zone. The intermediate precision was below 2 % (n=6). The LOD and LOQ were 16 and 50 ng/zone for lawsone, respectively. Average recovery was 96 %.

Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 272 nm. The hRF values for (1) to (3) were 22, 40 and 54, respectively. Linearity ranged between 1500-3500 ng/zone for (1), 200-600 ng/zone for (2) and 1040-3120 ng/zone for (3). LOD and LOQ were 185 and 560 ng/zone for (1), 42 and 125 ng/zone for (2), and 324 and 981 ng/zone for (3), respectively. The intermediate precision was <2 % (n=3). Recovery ranged between 97 and 100 %.

The hRF value for benzyl isothiocyanate was 39. Linearity was between 3–15 µg/zone. LOD and LOQ were 1 and 3 μg/zone. The intermediate precision was <2 % (n=3). Recovery was between 95.2 and 103.2 %.

      Quantification of arginine in dietary supplement tablets and capsules by silica gel high performance thin-layer chromatography with visible mode densitometry

      Acta Chromatographica 14, 60-69 (2004). TLC on silica gel with 1-butanol - glacial acetic acid - water 3:1:1 with chamber saturation. Detection by spraying with ninhydrin reagent (0.3 g ninhydrin in 100 mL 1-butanol plus 2 mL glacial acetic acid), followed by heating at 110 ºC for several min. Quantification by densitometry at 495 nm. Validation of the accuracy by analysis of spiked blank and standard addition samples and precision by performing replicate analysis on a single day and on different days. Recoveries and RSD for spiked blank and standard addition samples were 98.8 % and 98.5 %, 1.92 % and 0.67 %, respectively. Discussion of use of the method for the routine quality control of nutritional supplements.
