The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. Planta Med. 84(18), 1348-1354 (2018). A subfraction (obtained through liquid-liquid partition and column chromatography) of the ethanolic extract of whole Vernonia cinerea plants (Asteraceae, subf. Cichorioideae) was further fractioned by reverse-phase SPE (solid-phase extraction) followed by preparative TLC on silica gel layer (eluent not given). For verification, zones were detected by spraying with anisaldehyde solution with 10 % sulfuric acid, followed by heating at 100 °C. Further purification by reverse-phase HPLC allowed the isolation of 6 hirsutinolide-type sesquiterpenoids (all with a oxacyclonane forming an ether bridge), including vernolides A and B.
Planta Med. 84(18), 1340-1347 (2018). Preparative TLC on silica gel for the final purification of 15 phenylethyl-chromenone derivatives (including 3 with epoxide functions), 4 sesquiterpenoids (neopetasane, dehydrokaranone, dioxoselinene, ligudicin C) and a steroid (ergostatetraenone), all isolated through multi-step column chromatography from the ethyl-acetate fraction of a methanolic extract of Aquilaria sinensis resinous wood (Thymelaeaceae). For each compound, mobile phase, RF value and yield are given.
Quim. Nova. 43, 878-883 (2020). HPTLC of caryophyllene (1) and the diterpenic acids copalic (2), hydroxy-copalic (3), acetoxycopalic (4), agathic (5), and hardwickiic (6) in oilresin of Copaifera on silica gel with hexane - ethyl acetate 7:3. Detection by spraying with ethanol in 10 % sulfuric acid, followed by heating for 5 min. Qualitative analysis at 366 nm. The hRF values for (1) to (6) were 80, 50, 8, 28, 16 and 40, respectively.
Phytochem. Anal. 31, 711-721 (2020). HPTLC of 13 aporphine and four benzylisoquinoline-type alkaloids in the twigs of Ocotea spixiana on silica gel with propanol - water - ammonium hydroxide 18:2:1. Detection by desorption electrospray ionisation mass spectrometry (DESI-MS).
Phytochem. Anal. 31, 801-808 (2020). HPTLC of agarwood on silica gel with chloroform - methanol - distilled water 10:7:5. Detection by absorbance measurement at 254 nm. Agarotetrol was used as reference substance. Qualitative results were in agreement with the liquid extraction surface analysis mass spectrometry method.
J. Chinese Trad. Patent Med. 41 (3), 516-521 (2019). Yiqi Tongmai Capsule is a herbal TCM for activating blood circulation and regulating veins, as to relieve dizziness, chest tightness, chest pain caused by blood stasis. HPTLC for quality control on silica gel (1) for Ligusticum chuanxiong hort, with n-hexane - ethyl acetate 3:1 after presaturation of plates for 20 min, detection under UV 366 nm; (2) for Radix paeoniae rubra, with chloroform - ethyl acetate - methanol - formic acid 80:10:40:1 after presaturation of plates for 20 min, detection by spraying with 5 % vanilline in sulfuric acid - ethanol 1:4 and heating at 105 ˚C until the zones are detected in daylight, comparison with the standard paeoniflorin; (3) for Panacis Quinquefolii Radix and Panaxnotoginseng (Burk.) F.H.Chen with trichloroform - anhydrous ethanol - water 10:10:1 after presaturation of plates for 15 min, detection by spraying with 10 % solution of sulfuric acid - ethanol 1:4 and heating at 105 ˚C until the zones are detected in daylight and under UV 366 nm, identification by comparison with the standards notoginsenoside R1, ginsenoside Rg1, Re, Rb1 and pseudoginsenoside F11.
J. of Chromatogr. Sci. 58 (5), 411 - 417 (2020). Analysis of a binary mixture of silymarin (SR) and vitamin E (VE) acetate in their pure forms, pharmaceutical formulation and spiked human plasma, by HPTLC on silica gel with hexane - acetone - formic acid 140:60:3, detection at UV 215 nm, and quantification by densitometry. The linearity was 0.2 - 2.5 and 0.2 - 4.5 μg/band for SR and VE, respectively. Accuracy was 99.9 ± 1.2 % and 100.2 ± 1.6 % for SR and VE, respectively. The method was successfullly used for the determination of the studied drugs in their pharmaceutical formulation without any interference from excipients, and in spiked plasma samples. Statistical comparison of the results obtained by this HPTLC method showed no significant difference to the results obtained by the reported HPLC method.
J. Chinese Trad. Patent Med. 41 (7), 1728-1731 (2019). Sarcandra glabra (Thunb.) Nakai is a component herbal TCM drug with anti-bacteria, anti-inflammation, and anti-tumor activity. For quality control, TLC on silica gel at 25 % relative humidity and 21 °C with (A) toluene - ethyl acetate - formic acid 9:4:1, (B) cyclohexane - ethyl acetate - formic acid 7:6:1, (C) cyclohexane - ethyl acetate - formic acid 4:5:1. Detection (A) at UV 366 nm, (B) by exposure to ammonia vapor for 10 min and evaluation at UV 366 nm. Identification and assessment by comparison of the fingerprints with standards isofraxidin and rosmarinic acid. The method was successfully used for the analysis of 13 batches of real life samples.
