      Genetic diversity in chemically diverse accessions of Bacopa monnieri

Detection by spraying with anisaldehyde – sulfuric acid reagent followed by heating at 105 °C for 5 min. Quantitative determination by absorption measurement at 525 nm. Linearity was in the range of 160-480 ng/zone. Intermediate precisions were below 1.3 %. The LOD and LOQ were 40 and 120 ng/zone. The method was performed to check the chemical diversity in Bacopa in relation to bacoside A.

Huayu Tongluo Jianpan Tie plaster is coated with a herbal TCM preparation for the treatment of pain and numbness in the neck, waist, upper limbs and legs caused by the protrusion of cervical and lumbar intervertebral discs. For quality control, TLC on silica gel (1) for Boswellia carterii Birdw./Boswellia bhaurdajiana Birdw. Resin, with petroleum ether (60-90 °C) – ethyl acetate 5:1, detection by spraying with 5 % vanillin in sulfuric acid – ethanol 1:4 and heating at 100 °C until the zones are visible in daylight; (2) for Commiphora myrrha Engl./Commiphora molmol Engl. resin, with chloroform – ethyl acetate 80:1, detection as before; (3) for Daemonorops draco Bl., with chloroform – methanol 19:1, detection in daylight. Quantification of dracorhodin by HPLC.

      In vitro dermo-cosmetic evaluation of bark extracts from common temperate trees

      Planta Medica 82 (15), 1351-1358 (2016). The barks of forest trees (Acer pseudoplatanus, Alnus glutinosa, Fagus sylvatica, Fraxinus excelsior, Larix decidua, Picea abies, Populus robusta, Populus tremula, Prunus avium, Quercus robur) were successively extracted with n-heptane, methanol, and methanol/water; extracts and gentamycin were applied on TLC plates (but not developed; no TLC), which were sterilised, covered with a Mueller-Hinton agar medium containing a Staphylococcus aureus CIP 53.154 suspension, incubated at 37°C for 24 h, and revealed with MTT. All the methanolic extracts were active, as well as some other, the most active being those of Q. robur, L. decidua, and P. abies.

Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 281 nm. The hRF value for Bromo-DragonFLY was 50. Linearity was between 6 and 75 μg/zone. The intermediate precisions were below 4.3 % (n=3). The LOD and LOQ were 2.1 and 6.3 μg/zone, respectively. Average recovery was 94.5 %.

RP-HPTLC (1) and micellar liquid chromatography-TLC (2) of 1,2,4-triazole derivatives on RP-18 with methanol and acetonitrile in volume range concentration between 0.3 and 0.65 organic modifier for (1) and sodium dodecyl sulfate concentrations above critical micellar concentration in the range between 0.0318 and 0.1318 mol/L for (2). Detection by exposure to iodine vapors at room temperature. Developments were performed in moderate (≈0.4 T) magnetic field and simultaneously outside it. The partition coefficient P value of the investigated substances was used as a descriptor of their lipophilic properties.
