      SIMULTANEOUS HPTLC DETERMINATION OF RABEPRAZOLE AND ITOPRIDE HYDROCHLORIDE FROM THEIR COMBINED DOSAGE FORM

      Ind. J. Pharm. Sci. 70(3), 366-368 (2008). TLC of rabeprazole and itopride hydrochloride in tablets on silica gel with n-butanol - toluene - ammonia 17:1:2. Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 288 nm. The hRf value of rabeprazole was 23 and of itopride hydrochloride 75. Linearity was found to be in the range of 40 - 200 ng/spot for rabeprazole and 300-1500 ng/spot for itopride hydrochloride. The limit of detection and quantification for rabeprazole was 10 and 20 ng/spot and for itopride hydrochloride 50 and 100 ng/spot, respectively. The method is suitable for simultaneous anlysis of both the drugs in dosage form.

      Stability-indicating HPTLC method for quantitation of quetiapine fumarate in the pharmaceutical dosage form

      Acta Chromatographica 21 (1), 83-93 (2009). HPTLC of quetiapine fumarate on silica gel with toluene - methanol 4:1. The hRf value of quetiapine fumarate was 37. Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 254 nm. There was no chromatographic interference from tablet excipients. The drug is susceptible to treatment with acid and alkaline hydrolysis, oxidation, and photodegradation. The method was able to separate the degradation products from the pure drug, it can be used for stability tests.

Before development the plates were thermostated for 10 min in the dry chamber. Detection of fluvastatin and its photoproducts under UV 254 nm. Isolation of photoproducts by preparative TLC on RP-18.

      Development of novel high-performance thin-layer chromatography method for estimation of lipid in egg oil

Quantitative determination by fluorescence measurement at 366 nm. The hRf value of cholesterol was 35. The calibration curve showed good linear relationship with r2=0.999 in the range of 100-600 ng/spot (via peak area).

      Development and validation of HPTLC technique for simultaneous estimation of gatifloxacin and ornidazole in solid dosage forms

The hRf value was 16 and 60 for gatifloxacin and ornidazole, respectively. Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 302 nm. The method was linear in the range of 20-200 ng/band for gatifloxacin and 50-500 ng/band for ornidazole. Recovery was between 100.4 and 101.9 for both drugs.

HPTLC of rabeprazole sodium and domperidone in tablets on silica gel (prewashed with methanol and dried at 110 °C for 5 min) with toluene - acetone - methanol 9:9:1 in a twin trough chamber saturated with the mobile phase for 5 min. Quantitative determination by absorbance measurement at 285 nm. The hRf value of rapebrazole sodium and domperidone was 53 and 32, respectively. Linearity was between 50 and 800 ng/band for both substances.
