Description of the TLC behavior of chlorosulfates of the rare earth Y, Ce, Sm, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, and Yb on TLC plates coated with plain, mixed and impregnated sorbents. Aqueous salt solutions were found to be more suitable for selective separations than organic solvents. Spectrophotometry was used for the quantification of yttrium chlorosulfate after elution. A simple, rapid, inexpensive analytical method.
