Cuss and Doubleteeth Pubescent Angelica root, on silica gel with petroleum ether (30-60 ºC) – ethyl acetate 9:1, detection by spraying with 10 % sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating at 105 °C until the zones were visible, viewing under UV 366 nm; 2) for Ligusticum wallichii and Rheum officinale on silica gel with petroleum ether (30-60 ºC) – ethyl acetate 9:1, detection under UV 254 nm; 3) for Oleum Ocimi gratissimi on silica gel with cyclohexane – ethyl acetate 4:1, detection by spraying with 10 % ferric chloride in ethanol and heating at 105 °C until the zones were visible; 4) for Oleum Anisi stellati on silica gel with petroleum ether (60-90 ºC) – ethyl acetate 19:1, detection by spraying with 5 % vanillin in ethanol and heating at 105 °C until the zones were visible; 5) for Oleum Eucalypti on silica gel with cyclohexane – diethyl ether - ethyl acetate 16:3:1, detection by spraying with 5 % vanillin in ethanol and heating at 105 °C until the zones were visible.

HPTLC of L-dopa (1) and rutin (2) in a polyherbal formulation on silica gel with butan-1-ol - acetic acid - water 4:1:1 for (1) and ethyl acetate - butan-1-ol - formic acid - water 5:3:1:1 for (2). Quantification by absorbance measurement at 288 nm for (1) and 254 nm for (2). The hRf values for compounds (1) and (2) were 45 and 50, respectively. Linearity was in the range of 0.4-1.2 µg/zone for (1) and 0.4-0.9 µg/zone for (2). LOD and LOQ were 64 and 159 ng/zone for (1) and 76 and 228 ng/zone for (2), respectively. Average recoveries were 99.6 % for (1) and 100.1 % for (2). Intermediate/interday/intra-day precision was below 5 % (n=8).
