Chinese J. Trad. Patent Med. (Zhongchengyao) 26 (6), 449-452 (2004). TLC of Qixuekang oral liquid extract on silica gel with 1) chloroform - ethyl acetate - methanol - water 15:40:22:10; 2) chloroform - methanol - water 28:10:1. Detection 1) by spraying with 10 % H2SO4 in ethanol and heating; 2) under UV 365 nm. Identification by fingerprint techniques. Quantification of notoginsenoside R1 by HPLC with method validation.
Chinese J. Trad. Pat. Med. (Zhongchengyao) 26 (9), app.19-20 (2004). HPTLC on silica gel with petroleum ether (30 - 60 ºC) - formic acetate - formic acid 15:5:1, at 11 ºC and humidity of 40 %. Detection by exposing to ammonia vapors. Identification by fingerprint technique and comparison with the standards.
J. Chinese Trad. Patent Med. (Zhongchengyao) 27(4), 483-485 (2005). TLC of tanshinone llA extracted from the title Chinese traditional patent medicine on silica gel with benzene - ethyl acetate 19:1. Quantitative determination by densitometry at 470 nm. Also determination of the compound by HPLC.
59th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress C-66, 240, (2007). Evaluation of Arjunakhseerpak and Arjunaristha, two ayurvedic formulations used for cardiovascular system, which contain Terminalia arjuna as the main ingredient. Simultaneous HPTLC of arjungenin and arjunolic acid from Terminalia arjuna on silica gel with toluene - ethyl acetate - acetic acid 10:10:1. Detection by spraying with 10 % sulphuric acid followed by heating. Densitometric evaluation at 366 nm. The UV spectra of the sandards arjungenin and arjunolic acid was found to be similar to that of arjungenin and arjunolic acid in the formulation. The method was found suitable for standardization of arjuna formulations.
Indian Drugs 45(8), 663-666 (2008). HPTLC of geranial and luteolin from leaves of Cymbopogon citratus on silica gel with toluene - ethyl acetate 9:1 for geranial and toluene - ethyl acetate - formic acid 10:7:1 for luteolin. Densitometric evaluation at 200 nm (geranial) and 254 nm (luteolin). Alcoholic extracts of the plant leaves were found to contain 1.34 % and 1.49 % of geranial and luteolin respectively.
