The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. Study of the optimum inclusion process conditions for volatile oil by using orthogonal design and determining the utilization ratio of volatile oil from Fructus Amomi Rotundus by TLC on silica gel with benzene - ethyl acetate 19:1 and detection by spraying with vanillin - H2SO4 solution. Establishment of the optimum conditions as volatile oil: beta-cyclodextrin 1:8 at 50 ºC for two hours, giving the utilization ratio of volatile oil of 70.7%.

TLC on silica gel with 1) chloroform - methanol - water 13:7:2, 2) isopropanol - ethyl acetate - water 17:9:9, n-butanol - formic acid - water 15:3:2. Detection 1) by spraying with 10 % H2SO4 in ethanol and heating at 110 ºC, 2) by spraying with 0.3 % ninhydrin in n-butanol, 3) by spraying with 10 % vanillin solution. Identification by fingerprint techniques. Quantitative determination of ginsenoside by HPLC.
Chinese J. Trad. Patent Med. (Zhongchengyao) 26 (7), 541-544 (2004). TLC of Fuketiaojing tablet extracts on silica gel with 1) benzene - ethyl acetate - glacial acetic acid 2:1:1; 2) benzene - ethyl acetate- glacial acetic acid 92:5:5; 3) cyclo hexane - ethyl acetate 7:3; 4) chloroform - methanol - water 30:10:1. Detection 1) under UV 254 nm; 2) by spraying with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde-H2SO4 solution and heating at 130 ºC and under UV 365 nm; 3) by spraying with 10 % H2SO4 solution in ethanol and heating at 105 ºC; 4) by spraying with 5 % vanillin-H2SO4 solution and heating at 105 ºC. Identification by fingerprint technique. Quantification of ferulic acid by HPLC.

TLC on silica gel with 1) ethyl acetate - methyl ethyl ketone - formic acid - water 10:1:1:1; 2) chloroform - methanol 20:1; 3) chloroform - formic acid - water 13:7:2. Detection 1) under UV 254 nm; 2) by spraying with 10 % H2SO4 in ethanol and heating at 105 ºC. Identification by fingerprint technique. Quantification of astragaloside IV by densitometry at 530 nm. Validation of the method by investigation of linearity (1.12 µg - 5.60 µg, r = 0.999); precision (RSD = 1.63 %, n= 5 within plate and RSD = 2.3 % plate to plate); reproducibility of five time assay towards the same sample (RSD = 3.12 %); standard addition recovery (97.69 %, RSD = 2.10 %, n = 5). The results for three real life samples are given.

Detection 1) by spraying with 1 % vanillin solution and heating at 105 ºC for 10 min; 2) under UV 365 nm. Identification by fingerprint technique. Quantification of ferulic acid by densitometry at 325 nm. Validation of the method by investigation of linearity (0.16 µg - 1.6 µg, r = 0.9992); precision (RSD = 1.8 %, n= 5 within plate and RSD = 2.3 % plate to plate); reproducibility of five time assay towards the same sample (RSD = 0.5 %); and standard addition recovery (97.17 %, RSD = 0.9 %, n = 5). The results for three real life samples are given.

TLC of the extracts on silica gel with 1) ethyl acetate - acetone - formic acid - water 5:5:1:1; 2) chloroform - ethyl acetate - methanol - water 8:20:11:5; 3) n-hexane - ethyl acetate 9:1. Detection by spraying with 1) 5 % H2SO4 and 2) 10 % H2SO4, both in ethanol followed by heating at 105 ºC until the spots are visualized; 3) under UV 365 nm. Identification by comparison with the standard. Quantification of geniposide by HPLC. The analysis results for three real life samples are given.

TLC of extracts of Ruyi Jinhuang Tie ointment on silica gel with 1) n-butanol - glacial acetic acid - water 7:1:2; 2) petroleum ether (30 - 60 ºC) - ethyl formate - formic acid 15:5:1; 3) toluene - ethyl acetate - acetic acid 13:9:1; 4) chloroform - methanol - formic acid 96:3:1; 5) ethyl acetate - methanol - water 100:17:3 and toluene - ethyl acetate - formic acid water 20:10:1; 6) n-hexane - benzene - ethyl acetate 14:3:3. Detection under UV 365 nm and by spraying with 1 % FeCl3 solution in ethanol or with a solution of 5 % p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde 10 % ethanolic H2SO4 followed by heating at 80 ºC. Identification of the fingerprint. Quantitative determination of berberine chloride by HPLC. The results of three batches of real life samples are given.
Chromatographia 65 (3-4), 245-248 (2007). TLC of dimethyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, dibutyl phthalate, di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP), benzyl butyl phthalate, diisodecyl phthalate, dimethyl adipate, diethyl adipate, di(2-ethylhexyl)adipate, triethyl citrate, tributyl citrate, tributyl acetyl citrate and n-butyl stearate on inorganic ion-exchanger stannic silicate with toluene - ethyl acetate 10:1 over 12 cm (25 min). Quantification of DEHP by densitometry at 280 nm. Limit of quantitation for DEHP was 0.50 µg/zone and limit of detection 0.05 µg/zone.
