The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:

Detection 1) under UV 365 nm; 2) by spraying with vanillin - methanol - H2SO4 1:40:2, and heating at 105°C for 5 min. Identification by fingerprint technique.
J. Chinese Trad. Patent Med., (Zhongchengyao) 25(6), 518-520 (2003). TLC on silica gel with benzene - acetone - ethyl acetate - NH3 conc. 10:15:20:1. Detection by spraying with 5% potassium iodobismuthate solution and 5% sodium nitrite solution. Identification by finger print technique. Quantitation of matrine by densitometry at 480 nm.

TLC on silica gel with 1) ethyl acetate - butanone - formic acid - water 10:7:1:1; 2) benzene - acetone 10:1; 3) petroleum ether - ethyl formate - glacial acetic acid 18:1:1. Detection 1) under UV 365 nm, 2) by spraying with 5 % solution of vanillin - acetic acid - perchloric acid and heating at 105 ºC, 3) by spraying with 10 % H2SO4 in ethanol and heating at 105 ºC. Identification by fingerprint techniques. Quantitation of icariine by HPLC.

TLC on silica gel with 1) petroleum ether - ethyl acetate - formic acid 30:10:1, 2) petroleum ether - ethyl acetate 25:1, 3) chloroform - methanol - water 13:7:2. Detection 1) under 365 nm, 2) by spraying with 1 % vanillin - H2SO4 solution, 3) by spraying with 10 %H2SO4 in ethanol. Identification by fingerprint techniques, combined with microscopy of the microcosmic configuration and shape of the medicine, and with visualization by color reaction of anthracene and quinine with 1 % NaOH solution.

TLC of Lidan capsule extracts on silica gel with 1) ethyl acetate - butanone - formic acid - water 5:3:1:1; 2) chloroform - methanol - water 30:10:1; 3) petroleum ether (60-90 ºC) - ethyl acetate - benzene 14:3:3; 4) n-hexane - chloroform - methanol 15:8:2. Detection 1) by spraying with 1 % FeCI3 in ethanol; 2) by spraying with a solution of P-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde - ethanol - H2SO4 1:100:10; 3) by spraying with 5 % vanillin - H2SO4 solution followed by heating; 4) by exposing to iodine vapor. Identification by fingerprint technique. Quantification of emodin and chrysophanol by HPLC.
Chinese J. Trad. Patent Med. (Zhongchengyao) 26 (3), 248-249 (2004). TLC of astragaloside on silica gel with the lower phase of chloroform - methanol - water 13:6:2. Detection by spraying with 10 % H2SO4 in ethanol and heating at 105 ºC. Identification by comparison with the standard. Quantification by densitometry at 530 nm. Validation of the method by investigation of precision (RSD=2.2 % n=5 within plate and 3.0 % n=5 plate-to-plate), linearity range (0.45-2.28 µg/spot r=0.998), repeatability, reproducibility, and recovery (98.1 %, n=5, RSD=3.4 %).
Chinese J. Hosp. Pharm. (Zhongguo Yiyuan yaoxue Zazhi) 25 (1), 90-92 (2005). TLC on silica gel with chloroform - ethyl acetate - formic acid 2:2:1. Detection under UV light. Identification by fingerprint technique. Quantification by densitometry at 325 nm. Validation of the method by investigation of linearity (0.52 µg - 4.68 µg, r = 0.9992); precision (RSD = 2.20 %, n = 5); reproducibility of five time assay towards the same sample (RSD = 3.10 %); standard addition recovery (99.0 %, RSD = 0.26 %, n = 5). The results for three real life samples are given.

TLC of the extracts on silica gel with 1) n-hexane - chloroform - methanol 15:8:2; 2) n-hexane - ethyl acetate 9:1; 3) chloroform - benzene - glacial acetic acid 7:2:1. Detection 1) by exposing to iodine vapours; 2) under UV 365 and 254 nm. Identification by comparison with the standard. Quantification of usnic acid by densitometry at 290 nm. Validation by investigating the linearity range (0.50 - 2.50 µg/spot, r = 0.999), precision (RSD = 2.26 %, n= 5, within plate, and 2.97 %, n = 5, plate-to-plate), and standard addition recovery (97.5 %, RSD = 2.61, n = 5).
