The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:

Detection by spraying with 10% sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating at 105°C for 5 min. Quantification by densitometry at 525 nm. Precision 2.0% (n=6). Recovery 98.0 ± 1.85% (n=5).

Chinese J. Pharm. Anal. (Yaowu Fenxi Zazhi) 28, 177-178 (1997). TLC on silica with chloroform - methanol - NH3 conc. 25:5:1. Quantification after elution by spectrophotometry at 663 nm. Comparison with HPLC.
J. Chin. Trad. Med. (Zhongguo Zhongyao Zazhi) 22, 608-610 (1997). TLC on silica with acetone - ethanol - hydrochloric acid 10:6:1. Detection by spraying with improved potassium iodobismuthate reagent. Quantification by densitometry at 510 nm. Precision 0.96% (n=6), recovery 96.7 ± 1.74% (n=3).
J. Chromatogr. B 707, 347-350 (1998). TLC on silica gel with toluene - acetone - formic acid 60:39:1. Quantitation by radioactivity assay using a phosphor imager. Comparison to HPLC method, giving a correlation coefficient of 0.978 between the two methods.
J. Chinese Trad. Patent Med. (Zhongchengyao) 20 (4), 12-14 (1998). TLC on silica gel with 1) petroleum ether - methyl acetate - formic acid 10:5:1, 2) chloroform - methanol - NH3 30:4:1, 3) chloroform - ethyl acetate - methanol - water 15:40:22:10, 4) petroleum ether - ethyl acetate - formic acid 10:5:1. Detection 1) under UV 365 nm, 2) spraying with KJ solution in ethanol, 3) spraying with 10% sulfuric acid in ethanol. Quantitation of emodin by densitometry at 440 nm. Precision = 3.4% (n=5) plate-to-plate and 2.7% (n=5) within plate. Recovery 98.1 ± 1.27% (n=4).

Detection by spraying with sulfuric acid - methanol 1:1 and heating at 105°C for 10 min. Identification of schizandrin A by HPLC. Discussion of the quality standard. of the medicine.

TLC on silica gel with 1) cyclohexane - ethyl acetate 9:1, 2) chloroform - methanol 6:1, 3) cyclohexane - ethyl acetate 3:1 and 4:1. Detection 1) by spraying with 8% vanillin-in ethanol - 20 % perchloric acid 1:4 and heating at 85°C, 2) spraying with 5% vanillin-sulfuric acid reagent and heating at 100°C, 3) under UV 365 nm. Identification by finger print. Quantitation of sarsasapogenin by densitometry, at 443 nm. The usefulness of the procedures for quality control of the medicine is discussed.
