The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:

Detection by 1) spraying with 10% sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating at 105°C for 5 min, 2) spraying with 1% AlCl3 and heating at 105°C for 2 min, and under UV 365 nm, 3) spraying with 5% vanillin in sulfuric acid and heating at 105°C for 2 min.
J. Chin. Trad. Med. (Zhongguo Zhongyao Zazhi) 22, 415-418 (1997). TLC on silica with 1) hexane - acetone - 4:1, 2) chloroform - methanol - NH3 conc. 8:2:1, 3) benzene - ethyl acetate 3:1, 4) hexane - ethyl acetate 1:1. Detection by 1) spraying with 8% vanillin - 3% perchloric acid in ethanol 1:1 and heating at 105°C for 5 min, 2) spraying with 10 % sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating at 90°C for 10 min, 3) under UV. Identification by standard comparison. Quantification of smilagenin and oleanolic acid by densitometry at 455 nm and 540 nm, respectively. Precision of smilagenin 1.39% (n=5), recovery 97.4 ± 1.2% (n=5). Precision of oleanolic acid 2.8% (n=5), recovery 97.9 ± 1.3 % (n=5).

J. Chromatogr. A 822, 332-335 (1998). HPTLC on silica gel with chloroform - acetone 17:3. Identification by using Rf values and in situ UV spectra. Quantitation by densitometry at 230 nm. Recommendation of the use of the procedure by law enforcement laboratories for routine analysis.

Detection 1) by spraying with 10% sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating at 105°C for 10 min, 2) under UV. Identification of the main component drugs by finger print technique. Usefulness of the procedure for rapid quality control of the medicine is discussed.
