The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:

TLC on silica with a) petrol ether - acetone 7:3, b) benzene - methanol 85:15 and 97:3, c) benzene - ethyl acetate 9:1, d) isopropanol - NH3 - water 60:5:5, e) isopropanol - NH3 7:3. Detection by spraying with 5 % sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating at 105 °C for 5-10 min.

TLC on C8- or C18-bonded silica with methanol - 0.1 M lithium chloride in 32 % NH3 5:25. Detection by dipping in DOOB-reagent and heating. Quantification by fluorodensitometry after dipping in a solution of paraffin oil - n-hexane 1:6. Detection limits, 10 and 50 ng, resp.

Deutsche Apotheker Zeitung 129, 1841-1842 (1989). TLC of tetracycline on cellulose with 5g MgCl2•6 H2O and 0.3 g Na2EDTA•2 H2O in 100 mL water + 2 mL acetic acid. Detection by spraying with NH3 and under UV 365 nm. TLC of tetracycline and oxytetracycline on cellulose with isopropanol - acetone - water 75:15:15. Detection under UV 365 nm.
Proc. 6th Int. Symp. Instrum. Planar Chromatogr., (Interlaken 1991), Inst. Chromatogr., Bad Dürkheim, FRG, 235-244 (1991). TLC for assay and purity control of chlortetracycline and demeclocycline on EDTA pretreated silica with dichloromethane - methanol - water 60:35:5 for chlorotetracycline and 59:35:6 for demeclocycline. Densitometry by absorbance at 280 nm. Comparison with HPLC showed a good correlation to TLC-data (r = 0.9999). For TLC standard deviation (RSD) of main components was < 2%, for LC the RSD was 1%.

Visualization by spraying with NH3 and under UV 365 nm.

Detection by spraying with 0.15% xanthydrol in hydrochloric acid conc. - acetic acid 60:5, followed by heating. Quantification by densitometry at 525 nm. Comparison of TLC with LC. This TLC method can be used for rapid and simple quantification of erythromycin in urine and plasma samples.
Biomed. Chromatogr. 10, 256-260 (1996). TLC on silica impregnated with EDTA in different concentrations with 1) propionic acid - 2-propanol - water 2:1:1, 2) 2-propanol - water - ethyl acetate 5:3:3, 3) butanol - water - acetic acid 5:4:2. Detection by exposure to iodine vapor. Discussion of the effects of the concentration of the impregnating reagent and the composition of the mobile phase on the resolution.
