The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:

OPLC (OPTLC) of 13 S-containing amino acids on cellulose with a) acetone - acetic acid - water 7:1:5, b) acetone - acetonitrile - acetic acid - water 2:5:1:2, c) MEK - acetonitrile - acetone - water 3:4:1:2. Detection with ninhydrin reagent. Densitometry by absorbance.
Detection under UV 365 nm after spraying with 0.03 % fluorescamine reagent. Detection limit 10 ng. Also HPLC.
J. Chromatogr. 392, 460-463 (1987). TLC of enantiomeric mixtures of PTH-amino acids on (+)-tartaric acid and (+)-ascorbic acid impregnated silica with chloroform - ethyl acetate - water 28:1:1, and chloroform - n-butyl acetate 5:1. Detection by exposing in iodine vapor.
H. TRAITLER, A. STUDER, R.E. KAISER (eds): Instrumental HPTLC, Institute for Chromatography, Bad Dürkheim, FRG (1987), 155-165. TLC on chiral plate with methanol - water - acetonitrile 50:50:200, 50:50:30 and 50:70:200. Detection by dipping in a solution of 0.3 % ninhydrin in acetone and heating at 110 °C for 15 min. Quantification by densitometry. Detection limits, 0.1 % of the minor enantiomer.
J. of Medicinal Chemistry 31, 1492-1495 (1988). TLC on silica with butanol - acetic acid - water 4:1:1, butanol - pyridine - acetic acid - water 4:1:1:1, chloroform - methanol 9:1. Detection by spraying with ninhydrin and Cl2-tolidine.
Herba Hungarica 28, 87-91 (1989). TLC of glucose, galactose and mannose on silica with butanol - pyridine - benzene - water 5:4:3:1. Visualization with p-anisidine phtalate solution. Two-dimensional TLC of alanine, glycine and threonine on silica with butanol - acetic acid - water 4:1:1 and phenol - water 75:5. Visualization by spraying with ninhydrin.
J. Planar Chromatogr. 2, 92-94 (1989). TLC of 9 amino acids on silica with pH values of 3.0, 4.5, 6.0, 7.5 and 9.0 and impregnated with 5% paraffin oil in hexane; detection with ninhydrin. Mostly, retention decreases with increasing surface pH value. Dibasic amino acids (Arg, Lys, Orn) increase with increasing pH of the silica surface.
J. Planar Chromatogr. 3, 275-276 (1990). Evaluation of “useful” reagents for the detection of amino acids. TLC of 22 amino acids on silica with propanol - water 7:3. Detection by spraying with 0.2% solution of 1,3-indanedione in 0.1 M sodium hydroxide - ethanol 1:1 of 1% o-mercaptobenzoic acid in 1 M aqueous sodium hydroxide - ethanol 1:1. Detection limits 0.05 - 0.4 µg.
