The Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service CCBS contains all abstracts of CBS issues beginning with CBS 51. The database is updated after the publication of every other CBS edition. Currently the Cumulative CAMAG Bibliography Service includes more than 11'000 abstracts of publications between 1983 and today. With the online version you can perform your own detailed TLC/HPTLC literature search:

Sugar identification by TLC on silica with ethyl acetate – acetic acid – methanol – water 13:4:3:3. Detection with p-anisidine phthalate. TLC bioassay for antifungal activity with Cladosporium cucumerinum spores.
Phytochemistry 30, 2349-2356 (1991). TLC of various triterpene glycosides and of their related aglycones on silica with chloroform - methanol - water 60:35:8, chloroform - methanol - water 70:70:3, chloroform - methanol 9:1 and chloroform - methanol 4:1. Detection with vanilline - H2SO4 reagent. Also sugar analysis by TLC on silica with butanol - isopropanol - water 5:3:1. Detection with orcine or aniline hydrogen phthalate.
Chinese J. Chromatogr. 10, 169-170 (1992). TLC of gangliosides on silica with 1) chloroform – methanol – water 11:9:2, 2) acetic acid – propanol – chloroform – methanol – water 5:4:4:4:3, 3) chloroform – methanol – NH3 40:32:7. Detection by spraying with a solution containing 0.2 g resorcinol, water 10 mL, hydrochloric acid (36 %) 80 mL, 0.1 mol/L copper sulfate, and heating for 15 – 20 min at 110 °C.
J. of Natural Products 56, 682-689 (1993). TLC of various secoiridoid glycosides in crude Gentianaceae extracts on silica with chloroform - methanol 70:30. Also HPTLC on RP-18 silica with methanol - water 2:8. Detection under UV 254 nm. Identification of sugars after hydrolysis of the glycosides by TLC on silica with ethyl acetate - water - methanol - acetic acid 13:3:3:4. Detection with p-anisidine phthalate.
Chinese J. Herb Med. (Zhongcaoyao) 25, 266-268 (1994). TLC of saponins on silica with 1) chloroform - ethyl acetate - ethanol - water 80:16:80:23, and 2) chloroform - methanol - water 30:10:2. Detection by spraying with 10 % sulfuric acid in ethanol and heating for 10 min at 105 °C. Discussion of the relationship between saponin composition in crude drugs and culture regions, etc.
J. Chinese Herb Med. (Zhongcaoyao) 26, 403-404 (1995). TLC of saiko saponins on silica with ethyl acetate - ethanol - water 16:3:2. Detection by spraying with 2% p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde - 40% sulfuric acid. Quantification by densitometry at 525 nm.
Phytochemistry 45, 1501-1505 (1997). TLC of triterpene saponins on silica with chloroform - methanol - water 14:6:1 or 65:35:9 and on RP-8 and RP-18 with methanol - water 3:2 or 7:3. Detection by spraying with 5% sulfuric acid, followed by heating. Also TLC of sugars on silica with the lower layer of chloroform - methanol - water 7:3:1. Detection with aniline/phthalate reagent. Excellent TLC system for saponins and their hydrolysis products.
J. Planar Chromatogr. 11, 441-446 (1998). HPTLC and TLC of, (5), (9), and flavonoids on cellulose, silica gel and RP-18 with benzene - acetic acid - water 6:7:3, sodium formate - formic acid - water 10:1:200, n-amyl alcohol - acetic acid - water 20:11:10, formic acid - hydrochloric acid - water 10:1:3, chloroform (3 developments), and tetrahydrofuran - water - phosphoric acid 40:60:1. Detection in daylight after spraying with diazotised sulfanilic acid in 10% sodium carbonate or with vanillin reagent and under UV at 254 nm before and after spraying with 2% methanolic aluminium chloride. Quantitation by densitometry at 510 nm.
