The TLC Visualizer documentation system captures images of TLC or HPTLC plates. Controlled by visionCATS, the TLC Visualizer can generate low-noise, high-dynamic-range images (HDRI) and supports a comprehensive set of image enhancement tools. Sophisticated algorithms ensure best image quality for identification of even the weakest zones. The system provides illumination with white light (remission, transmission or a combination of both), UV 254 nm and UV 366 nm.

Image Comparison Viewer
Controlled with visionCATS, the TLC Visualizer supports low noise, high dynamic range images. The fully integrated Image Comparison Viewer allows for comparison of tracks originating from different plates and different detection modes on the same screen side by side. Samples can be rearranged and compared to reference substances or samples, independent of their plate origin.
Image Enhancement Tools
The comprehensive set of image enhancement tools in the Data view exploits the TLC Visualizer’s full potential. Sophisticated algorithms guarantee highest image quality for identification of even the weakest zones. The plate view allows for visual evaluation of a plate in different illumination modes and offers broad range of helpful tools, e.g. a RF tool displays the RF value of fractions on the digital image or a rectangular zoom function. Also 3D profiles of images can be generated.
In addition to displaying the entire plate in the Data view, a sample view offers the possibilty to display each individual track in different illumination modes and allows for export of selected tracks to the Image Comparison Viewer. Each track is displayed in all illumination modes used for analysis. Additionally a profile from each track can be generated.
Image Comparison and Professional Image Enhancement
Image Comparison View: Selected tracks of images taken of the same plate under UV 254 nm (20, 25), white light (35, 40) and UV 366 nm (all other tracks) are compared.
Digital Image Evaluation with VideoScan
The VideoScan software allows evaluation of images captured with TLC Visualizer or DigiStore 2. The program is rapid and easy to use. Flexible features such as profile comparison of tracks from several chromatograms, evaluation of tracks with variable distance, distorted tracks etc. are available. Chromatograms can be evaluated at any time, even years after capture. Quantitative evaluation can be performed via peak-area and/or peak-height. Single or multilevel calibrations (linear or polynomial regression) can be selected.
