Update information for VideoStore 2

Please note that the VideoStore functionality of driving the HV-C20 3CCD Color Video Camera has been implemented into winCATS and compliance with 21 CFR part 11 is possible only in conjunction with winCATS!

VideoStore 2 Version 3.13 offers the following new features

  • The problem 'closing VideoStore while a live image is displayed' has been fixed.
  • The problem with screen savers taking over the image layer has been solved and a workaround for the frame grabber failure at bus power down has been implemented.

VideoStore 2 Version 3.11 offers the following new features

  • An update issue concerning the long-time-integration slider has been fixed.
VideoStore 2 Version 3.10 offers the following new features

This version runs under Windows 2000 and the following improvements have been implemented:

  • Link to VideoScan (if installed).
  • Several new functions for image annotation (snap to grid alignment, sorting of overlapping objects, contrast/brightness of display).
  • Known errors have been fixed.
  • The Help was completely re-worked and is now valid as manual (no hard copy shipped any more).
  • Normal shipping media is CD-ROM, containing additional documents and off-line Web access.
  • The Treasury version included is the new 32 bit version which supports long file names (but no localized characters).
VideoStore 2, version 3.00 offers the following new features

This Version no longer supports Windows 3.x operating systems. It only can be run (and has been tested for) Windows 95 (Service Release 2) and Windows NT 4.0.

The toolbars have been reorganized:

  • The toolbar Integrate displays the Integration time slider of the long time integration feature. This function has been extracted from the Capture toolbar.
  • The toolbar Standard displays the standard functions of the software. In earlier versions of VideoStore 2 these buttons were visible at all the time and could not be switched off.
  • New buttons have been added to the Annotation toolbar to select the view order of overlaying annotation objects.

VideoStore 2 Version 3.00 eliminates the following problems:

  • Image export: Exported images to TIF and JPG image formats can now be red by most well known 3rd party imaging softwares. This function has been tested using Netscape Explorer, Internet Explorer, Word 97 and several shareware products.
  • Integration time: The long time integration time will be displayed in seconds (0.04s etc instead of number of frames) and reported in both seconds and number of frames.

Treasury 3.09 offers the following new features

  • This version is 32 bit and accepts long file names and all ASCII but not all localized characters.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use VideoStore and Treasury under Windows NT
Yes, version 3.00 supports Windows 95 (Service Release 2), 98 and NT 4/SR4.

Is there a Treasury version supporting long file names available?
Yes, such version is available as update from CAMAG, see above.

Can I use Treasury in a network
Basically yes, but depending on what you want to do: Images can be saved from VideoStore 2 on a network and called up by Treasury from any computer but the automatic detection of new images via "DDE-Transfer" works only if Treasury and VideoStore both are active on the same computer. Treasury does not allow several users to access or edit the database simultaneously.

Treasury terminates if images are opened via a network
Check your network environment according to the following procedure:
First: Make sure there are no server, share or directory names longer than 8 characters (each) to be used by Treasury.
Second: In some network environments Treasury cannot correctly handle Universal Naming Convention (UNC). In this case, use the conventional drive mapping function.
Third: In Treasury turn off the conversion from drive letters to UNC path name. This is done by adding the following 2 lines to the Treasury.ini file located in the Windows directory:
[network]
UNCnames=0

How can I check the VideoStore 2 system (validation)
CAMAG has issued SOP's for performing IQ/OQ. The OQ SOP can be used for the annual check. See IQ/OQ guidelines or ask CAMAG for additional information.
